With the presidential election Tuesday, there are many questions and countless people stressed. The main issue, however, is who is going to win and how are they going to unite our country? America is obviously divided as of right now as most people know. We are slowly becoming more and more separated racially, economically and socially. So who is going to change this and how?

I have no particular preference as to who this person is going to be, but I do know that whoever it is needs to work on building the bridge that will close the huge gap in our country. Racial issues are a big issue, people of different social and economic statuses are turning against each other, people bash on someone for simply not sharing the same beliefs; it seems as if our country is turning their back on themselves. We are supposed to be equal and united- hence the “United” States.

The new leader of our country should be very well aware of these issues and have ideas that will solve them. We are supposed to be standing as one, and our future president should be able to realize that. Not only should they acknowledge our country’s current divide, but they should also have organized and efficient plans to act upon them.

We are supposed to be “one nation under God,” so why does it feel like much more than just one? Whoever our next president will be should make it feel more united and as if we are standing as one like it should be.

The future of our country is about to be determined in Tuesday’s election. The thing you have to keep in mind is who you want to hold the fate of our nation and how they will unite us.
