The girls’ basketball team is playing defending 6A state champion Duncanville, ranked 14th in the nation by MaxPreps Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Nest; it’s final game before District 13-5A plays starts Friday against Wakeland. The two teams have already met once this year with Duncanville winning 65-49 in the semifinals of the Frisco ISD Tip-Off Classic.

“We’re both a little bit further along in the season and it just depends on some of the things they’ve done in terms of how has each team progressed up to this point,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “That’s going to be a big part of it as well as how much we’re both excited about this game.”

Despite the loss last time the teams went head to head, Reedy hopes that the outcome will be different this time as his team will be more rested.

“As far as different, it’s not in a tournament, we aren’t playing the fourth game of a tournament, we’re playing with fresh legs,” Reedy said.

With the two teams having played already once this year, the team doesn’t expect too many surprises.

“This time we’re going to be more comfortable and know what to do,” senior Sydney Keller said. “We are going to work on defense, not getting sealed, we just have to get after it.”
