The Labor Day weekend meant a trip to Southlake for the cross country teams as they took part in the Southlake Invitational. Competing against schools from throughout the area, it was a day of firsts for both the boys and the girls.

Junior Josh Akin came home first (16:39.32) for all school classifications 5A and under with fellow junior David Buss (17:38.89) coming in 13th. Those two times helped the boys finish in 7th place as a team.

On the girls side, it was Carrie Fish taking home her second win of the year. Fish finished the course in 16:39.32 with sophomore Kendall Rose taking 9th place (20:46.28). Although the girls placed two runners in the top 10, injuries prevented the team for having enough runners to qualify for a team placement.
