With the election over, government classes are putting themselves in President Donald Trump’s shoes and creating a State of the Union address to address their fellow classmates about the problems going on in the country today and how they would fix these problems if they were in office.

“The whole goal of the assignment is to get the kids to think of a couple things, first to really reflect on their country today not from a national standpoint or politics but how does it reflect on their own lives, and how do they interpret the news what do they see,and how do they interpret current events,” government teacher Mark Thomas said. “Having heard the speeches we give the students an opportunity to get up in front of their peers and actually deliver a speech and I was impressed I am always impressed by how well the speeches are done, and not only the problems the student point out  not only they interpret our country having, but the solutions they come up with.”
