The boys’ soccer team is playing Centennial in a home game Friday night at 7:30 p.m. to try and escape a tie for first in District 13-5A play.

The team is looking to get back on the winning track after falling to Wakeland on Tuesday and three points for a win would go along way in helping the Redhawks stay atop the district standings.

“It’s extremely important,” senior Spencer Enlow said. “Because every win is important, but if we can get this win it’ll secure that first place spot.”

Going into the game, the Redhawks are 4-1 and the Titans are 3-2 in District 13-5A, making it an important game.

“We need to win for seeding purposes,” Enlow said. “It’ll give us better positioning going into playoffs and it’ll give us the confidence to do better.”

A win will go a long way to helping the team’s playoff chances, but head coach Fred Kaiser knows the team will have a challenge with the Titans.

“They’re a good team, well coached,” Kaiser said. “Centennial’s good, so it’s possible and we can definitely do it, but we’d have to be on our A game and we need to work.”
