Playoff action continues Friday night for both basketball teams as the girl’s and boy’s hope to extend their playoff runs with the girls’ team taking on Mansfield Legacy at 6 p.m. at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

“They are really good at the guard position, they are really athletic, have several girls that will eventually play college basketball at really high level,” girls’ head coach Ross Reedy said. “There are styles of their play that we feel like we can take advantage of, but it’s going to be a really difficult match up.”

If the team is able to win Friday, it will play less than 24 hours later with a bid to the state semifinals on the line.

“That’s why you play tournaments, because the turnaround is so quick,” Reedy said. “You’re gonna be hurting you’re gonna have to grind, so yeah it’ll be tough, but it’ll be tough on everyone.”

The boys’ team will tip off its second round game against Highland Park at Coppell High School at 8 p.m. after beating Prosper on a controversial shot Tuesday night.

“The quick turnaround won’t have that much of a difference,” senior Graham Dunn. “We won’t know their game plan as much , but I know Highland Park is a good team so it’ll be interesting to see it play out.”
