Theater performed its show And They Danced Real Slow in Jackson in the District 13-5A UIL One Act Play competition at Wakeland Thursday.

The group didn’t advance, but members are still pleased with their performance.

“I’ve been in UIL shows for the past seven years and it is my favorite part of the year,” senior Alexis Salmon said. “It’s intense and a lot of hard work but once you’re on stage telling your story it is the most satisfying part of it all.”

Eight schools performed in the district competition with only three advancing to the next level.

“I’ve taken away new experiences from UIL I’ll never forget,” junior Hailey Middleton. “I’ll take the advice from this years clinic and apply to next years when performing.”
