The first football games won’t be played at The Star until Saturday, but all FISD varsity teams were able to tour the facility on Friday. Throughout the day, each team was taken on an tour throughout the stadium to check out where they would be playing this season.

“I thought The Star was an amazing place,” junior Dimitri Jones said. “I’m looking forward to playing this season with my family and friends.”

Along with the players, the coaches got a chance to tour the building as well, and see where they would be coaching their team throughout the season.

“It’s an unbelievable facility,” head football coach Chris Burtch said. “Especially for high school players, there’s not another facility like it in the world.”

Along with a tour of the field, athletes got a first look into one of the locker rooms and a chance to see the Nike sponsored jerseys that they will be wearing.

“The new jerseys are sweet, I can’t wait to wear them,” Jones said. “The locker rooms are really nice, we are very lucky to have something like that.”

Although the team will be playing on a field shared by the Dallas Cowboys, Burtch plans on keeping things basic.

“My expectation is that we get there and we play football,” Burtch said. “It’s a football field, just like any other, and when we get there, we want to play hard, and represent Liberty well.”
