Orchestra director named campus Teacher of the Year

The 2016-17 school year is underway but orchestra director Julie Blackstock is still being recognized for her work last year as she has been named the campus teacher of the year.
“I am extremely flattered to have received this award,” Blackstock said. “To work in a school where you are appreciated by your administration is truly a blessing.”
The teacher of the year award is in its second year with math teacher Jordan Short the inaugural winner. For Blackstock, it’s a welcome honor.
“I don’t feel I do any more than any other teachers—we are all here because we love teaching and we love our students. But I certainly appreciate the recognition. It means a lot to me!”
