The swim team is competing in a double dual meet against Highland Park and Frisco at Bruce Eubanks Natatorium from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“These are the two toughest teams. FHS is in our district, Highland Park is in our region,” head swim coach Shannon Mistr said. “Our boys have been battling FHS for 2 years now. It’s a back and forth between what teams outscore constantly.”

This meet is the final double dual of the season, but not the last meet as the team has five more before the season ends. The swimmers have been working on the little things to ensure that they are as prepared as possible.

“[We’ve been] fine tuning the little things- technique, underwaters, breakouts, starts, and finishes,” Mistr said.

Both the girls’ and boys’ are swimming in the double dual and are looking forward to once again facing these tough teams.

“Frisco and Liberty are the two super teams in the district,” junior Jiwoo Oh said. “Last year we raced for regional champions and they won and we got second, they were always the top dogs and we were the underdog so we really want to win.”
