The board of trustees is holding a meeting tonight starting at 6:00 with a closed session, immediately followed by a discussion about  rezoning school zones for the school and for Independence.

Also, Isbell elementary, which feeds into Vandeventer middle school, is up for rezoning.

The board is also going to discuss adopting resolutions opposing an A-F school rating system the Texas education agency will enact starting next year.

Another item on the agenda is discussion on the district taking the next steps to become a district of innovation.

Being a district of innovation allows schools more flexibility in certain things much like charter schools.
