Independent Study and Mentorship students across the district will display their work at the Ford Center at the ISM Research Showcase Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

“The achievements by our ISM students is so incredible, that the Jones Family Foundation wanted to invite our ISM program to use their facility, The Star. It will help in the promotion of the event,” ISM teacher Brian Wysong said. “Many families and people in Frisco and surrounding communities may attend because of the location. Although that is the case, they will still be able to see our ISM students and will certainly be impressed. I know that our ISM students are excited and grateful for this opportunity.”

For the students, it’s the chance to show their progress at the midpoint of the school year.

“I feel like it’s a great opportunity to go out and present something I’m passionate about,” junior Rohith Perumalla said. “From what I’ve heard it’s an amazing experience to do this event and it being at The Star is an even better environment.”

The ISM Research event is the first time people get a look at what these students have been working on since school started and it’s the first time the event hasn’t been held at a FISD high school.

“Historically, this district-wide event has been hosted at one of the Frisco high school buildings,” Wysong said. “This will be the first year that FISD has hosted the ISM research showcase at an outside venue. The valuable part of this event being hosted at The Star is that is shows how much our school district values our ISM program and how much impact our ISM students have in our community.”
