“There’s going to be a line drawn on Friday night,” head football coach Chris Burtch said. “Of those that are one step closer to playoffs and those that aren’t, and you definitely want to be the team that’s one step closer.”

Although the team started its season with two non-district losses against Denison and McKinney, their current record will have no bearing on where the team hopes to end up.

“[Winning the games against Denison and Mckinney High] was not the goal,” Burtch said. “We’ve talked about it as a team and our goal is a deep run in the playoffs, and those games only prepare us for that run.”
