Wingspan: How long have you been doing track and when did you start?

Fassitt: “I actually started in eighth grade, but I stayed in it because I was better at it then I thought. My dad was telling me that my legs were so long and that I just needed to get out on the track and run.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about track?

Fassitt: “The meets and just hanging out with my teammates is just really fun and I love to be with them.”

Wingspan: Were you excited to be advancing to the area track meet?

Fassitt: “ Yes I was excited, and now we are going to regionals.”

Wingspan: What will you be competing in at regionals?

Fassitt: “We are competing in the 4×200 meter, the 4×400 meter. The 4×100 was really close.”

Wingspan: What are some of your goals for next track season?

Fassitt: “Next year I want to go to state and I want to get my 400 meter time down as best as I can.”

Wingspan: How are you going to train for next year to reach those goals you’ve set?

Fassitt: “I am going to do outside of school track with my team and I’m going to just work out a lot on my own, and run a lot this summer.”

Wingspan: What is the hardest part about track?

Fassitt: “Sometimes the workouts can be very stressful and hard, and you don’t want to finish them, but you have to push through because you know that it will make you better.”

Wingspan: What makes track different from other sports?

Fassitt: “It’s really individual like other sports like football, basketball you play with your team. In track it is all about what you do.”

Wingspan: Do you see yourself running track beyond high school and into college?

Fassitt: “Yes I do want to run in college so bad. I go to college meets sometimes just to see what it’s like and I really enjoy it. I want to go to USC or UCLA, a big school, but I know I am going to have to work hard to get there.”
