With a 5-1 record so far, tennis goes up against last year’s district champions, Frisco High School, at 4:00 p.m. Friday at Frisco with the confident despite Frisco being ranked eighth in the state.

“I’m excited to play Frisco this year as I am every year being ranked eighth doesn’t phase me,” senior Thanh Nguyen said. “Yes, it’ll be hard but I’m not too worried because I have Tiffany (Guan) as a doubles partner.”

Head coach Erica Dopson is ready for it to be a close match.

“We’ve been working on some doubles,” head tennis coach Erica Dopson said. “They usually do an I formation or an Australian formation in their doubles. So we’ve worked on returning that style to get used to a little different look, so hopefully that has them more prepared for playing their doubles team. We’ve looked at the matchups and who would be playing each other most likely and I know we’re going to have a lot of close matches. It should be good.”
