Wingspan: How long have you been playing volleyball and what got you started?

Hogan: “I’ve been playing volleyball since the second grade. My older sister played volleyball and I wanted to be like my older sister so I started playing like she did.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about this sport?

Hogan: “The competitiveness and the quick pace of the gam. All of the friendships that you make and the bonds that you create with your teammates.”

Wingspan: What is the most challenging part about playing at the varsity level?

Hogan: “The pressure is definitely on and just always having to perform well because all these games matter for district to make it to the playoffs.”

Wingspan: Do you plan on continuing your volleyball career past high school?

Hogan: “I’m committed to play volleyball at Ouachita Baptist University.”

Wingspan: Do you have any individual or team goals you want to meet this season?

Hogan: “I definitely think that we can get first in district and make it far into the playoffs. I want to continue to be a starter on varsity.”

Wingspan: What is your mood on game days?

Hogan: “I get really focused on game days and I try to focus on the opponent to help my team win the game.”

Wingspan: What keeps you motivated?

Hogan: “I just have a strong passion for the sport and I love winning and hate losing.”

Wingspan: Do you have any advice for future volleyball players?

Hogan: “Honestly just hard work pays off and to never give up. Even though you are going to have ups and downs and some challenges, keep going because it will all be worth it in the end.”
