Wingspan: How long have you been playing golf and what got you started?

McGarrh: “I’ve been playing golf since freshmen year. My dad and my mom got me started.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about the sport?

McGarrh: “My favorite part about golf is that it teaches you patience, loyalty. It teaches you so much. I mean I get to go out and socialize and play golf. It’s just fun.”

Wingspan: What is the most challenging part about golf?

McGarrh: “I would say, staying calm when you don’t have a shot that goes your way. It’s easy to get frustrated. But I think something else golf has taught me is to calm down and take a step back, it’s just one shot so you have to keep moving forward.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on the team?

McGarrh: “I have met so many great new people and friends. We have made so many memories, so this year I’m really excited just to see how far we can go.”

Wingspan: Do you have anything that you want to improve on during this season?

McGarrh: “This year I’d like to be first team district, so I think we have a pretty good chance to get our girls team down to state. I think that’s what we’re shooting for.”

Wingspan: Do you have any pre-game rituals?

McGarrh: “So I always have oatmeal before a tournament and the night before I always eat spaghetti. On the bus I normally put my music in.”

Wingspan: Are you a part of any outside of school teams?

McGarrh: “I’m in NTPGA, It’s North Texas Professional Golf Association.”

Wingspan: What has been one of your greatest accomplishments?

McGarrh: “Probably when I shot 73 last year at Frisco Lakes.”

Wingspan: Do you plan on pursuing golf in college?

McGarrh: “Yes, I actually have a few scholarships offers, so I just have to make a decision now.”
