Playing basketball for six years, junior Kenny Cheung said one of his proudest moments is ” making varsity and being able to compete at the highest level with these guys.”

Years played: 6

Wingspan: How long have you been playing basketball and what got you started?

Cheung: “I’ve been playing for six years and it was mostly my dad who got me into it. ”

Wingspan: What position do you play?

Cheung: “I’m a guard, I mostly play point-guard.”

Wingspan: What made you chose basketball as your sport?

Cheung: “Honestly it was my friends, I just wanted to be with them and they all just kept me playing.”

Wingspan: Who do you look up to in your personal life?

Cheung: “It would have to be my brother because he works really hard and I look up to that, so I can work harder and be more like him.”

Wingspan: What is your mentality going into a game?

Cheung: “I have to get my mind right and usually I have to listen to music.”

Wingspan: What is your biggest struggle and is there something you would like to improve on in your sport?

Cheung: “I think it’s mostly conditioning. I want to be tougher and get better at rebounding and getting the ball, things like that.”

Wingspan: What is one thing you’re most proud of?

Cheung: “Just making varsity and being able to compete at the highest level with these guys.”

Wingspan: What makes you energetic before a game?

Cheung: “I would definitely say music, and if there is a big crowd and playing well in front of them. Just a big student section.”

Wingspan: Who are you looking to make proud when you play, who are you playing for?

Cheung: “Yeah mostly myself, because the game is fun and I really love basketball.”

Wingspan: What disappoints you the most about basketball?

Cheung: “At a tournament we didn’t do that well and our coaches got upset at us for slacking off. So I was kind of disappointed in my team for how we acted.”
