Girls’ golf heads to Rockwall on Wednesday and Thursday for the Regional Tournament with the chance at state on the line.

“I’m expecting it to be kind of hard because it’s supposed to rain, but we’ll just keep on playing through it,” sophomore Sona Shah said. “It just makes the clubs more slippery and the balls don’t roll as much so you just lose a lot of distance. I hope we advance. We’ve advanced for the last four years, but because of the conditions, it might be a little hard.”

Hoping to claim a regional championship, girls’ golf needs to place in the top three to advance to state but senior Sarah Buss is far from worried.

“I think if we work hard, we’ll be able to do that easily,” Buss said. “I mean there’s always nerves like when you go into this but I’ve done it for three years in a row so I should be fine and so should the team.”
