Junior Ryan Coyne(#20) steps up as captain for the football team while taking on a new position for the 2018-2019 season.

Wingspan: How long have you been playing football and what got you started?

Coyne : “I’ve been playing football since I was little, but then I quit. I played again in middle school. My parents signed me up.”

Wingspan: What fuels your passion to play football?

Coyne: “First of all I like playing with all of my friends and that makes it more fun and I like to hit people. It’s just a fun sport.”

Wingspan: What is something that pumps you up before a game?

Coyne: “I eat my food and that gives me energy and just when you’re in the tunnel and stuff is awesome and it gets me hype.”

Wingspan: Why do you thing spring training for football is important?

Coyne: “It gets us set up for next year and it helps us to learn all of the packages and plays and stuff like that.”

Wingspan: What is something you struggle with and want to improve on?

Coyne: “This year i am playing a new position so I have to learn that  and that’s kind of difficult but I should be able to do it. I’m an inside linebacker.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about football?

Coyne: “It’s the brotherhood that I form while playing football.”

Wingspan: What are you expecting for next year?

Coyne: “To win as much as possible.”
