The final notes of the 2017-18 orchestra season will sound Monday night when their final concert starts at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

“My students have been rehearsing for about a month and a half, ” orchestra teacher Julie Blackstock said. “They have been working really hard and I’m proud of them.”

Although an orchestra concert, some band members will be taking part to give the concert the sound of a full orchestra.

“I’m excited,” freshmen Sasha Cornelius said. “We’ll be doing a Jurassic Park piece as a full orchestra to kinda celebrate the new Jurassic World movie coming out this summer.”

Orchestra will be performing some well known songs during their concert such as “City of Stars” from La La Land.

“Popular songs are more fun to play,” freshmen Kayley Nebeker said. “They’re entertaining to us and the audience”.

The concert is free and is open to anyone who want to come.

“I just hope my kids do good and have fun,” Blackstock said. “It’s like their last big hurrah before school’s over.
