Students and their parents throughout Frisco ISD have the chance to visit with more than 80 college and universities Wednesday, as the district’s annual College Fair is being held in the cafeteria from 6-8 p.m.

“They’ll be different colleges so it’s a good time for you to go and talk to different universities that are out there,” college and career counselor Brittney Portnoy said. “Some schools that you may not even know exist, you may find out that they have everything that you’re looking for in a school. Having the ability to kind of check in and see all the different stuff that’s out there.”

Junior Bailey Wright is gearing up to start thinking about colleges, and hopes that the college fair will make her search easier.

“I think it will be good for students because they will get an idea of what college they want to go to and what colleges have as far as education,” Wright said. “Students will get to learn about the colleges they already know about and get to know other schools.”

Many students think they know where they want to go but the college fair can provide some unique insight.

“It gives them the opportunity to meet with representatives from lots of different schools,” counselor Lindsay Pfiffner said. “They can answer any questions students have and explore any options they didn’t consider the first time.”
