Band will be competing in the UIL band marching showcase on Saturday at the John Clark Stadium in Plano. Practicing since August, band has had to deal with wet weather in the their preparation.

“We’ve had weekly rehearsals this past couple weeks been battling a lot of rain,” assistant band director Zachary Anderson said. “But basically our season culminates up to the competition tomorrow which were rated for Texas standards and I think we’re ready for that.”

Due to the rainy weather, band students have adjusted their practices in accordance to the weather.

“The weather has definitely been a hindrance,” senior Olivia Brucker said. “This week, but we’ve been pushing through again like rehearsing inside like auditorium and even when those spaces were filled up we pushed in like found the cafeteria we push all the tables aside, we’ve made room for ourselves to get better and we’ve also got the mentality that we’re not which is what’s helped us get better because we put that in mind. It’s just like not rehearsal this season because just like ramped up with energy and the focus and everyone helping each other on the field. So not only like keeping yourself as an individual and going over the counter music, but also keeping each other and helping each other on the field.”

Anderson hopes the performance is a reflection of the expectations students have.

“My expectations of the students and the students expectations of themselves is really always to have the best show that they’ve had,” Anderson said. “Our motto is always to to be better than what we were the previous day. For us it’s not necessarily a competition against anybody else you I was always a competition against ourselves and making sure that again we come we come with the right energy we come with, you know all of the things that we’ve been working up to this point on in really just being the best version of the Liberty band.”
