Wingspan: How long have you been playing volleyball and what got you started?

Cooper: “I started playing volleyball because I wanted to get away from playing soccer and I’ve been playing for eight years.”

Wingspan: What fuels your passion to play?

Cooper: “I play because I’m competitive natured and this game requires a lot of individual effort as well as team cooperation.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare yourself before a game?

Cooper: “Before a game it’s all about the mentality. I’ve got to be ready to do my job, whether it’s from the court or the sidelines, you’re always playing a role on the team.”

Wingspan: Who do you think is your biggest competition during playoffs and why?

Cooper: “Our biggest competition will be our long-time program rival Lovejoy. Identically to last year, we should meet in the third round.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on the team?

Cooper: “My favorite part about being on the team is getting to start each day with a very supportive group of hard working girls.”

Wingspan: Is there anything that you are wanting to improve on?

Cooper: “Personally, I’d love to improve on serve receive because there’s always a chance I could be thrown into that situation.”

Wingspan: How are you working to achieve this?

Cooper: “I practice every school day with the team and we constantly have serve receive focused drills, but I also go to privates on the weekends to try to improve on that skill on my own time.”

Wingspan: Being a senior, what are you going to miss most about high school volleyball?  

Cooper: “I’m going to miss always having something to do and always having people to see. After this season I’m going to have so much free time, I won’t know what to do with it. I’m also really going to miss getting to do well alongside all of my best friends.”
