Six of the school’s band students will be participating in the All-Region Jazz concert tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School.

“It’s a great opportunity for all of the Region 24 jazz members who competed to get together and make music,” jazz band director Zack Anderson said. “They had a lot of music to prepare and it’s going to be a really cool event.”

Members of Region 24 auditioned several weeks ago and were placed in jazz one and jazz two. Those who placed in jazz one were Nathan Brooks, Erin Stone, Kieser Elayyach, and Zachary Gross. Jazz two includes Ryan Osborne and Kennedy Williams.

Sophomore Nathan Brooks, who placed first chair for alto saxophone, said he put in long hours of practice prior to the audition, but that it payed off.

“[Those who made All-Region] are all really nice and we play a lot of great music,” Brooks said. “Overall it’s a great experience.”

Junior Zachary Gross is the only one of the six who will be advancing to the state level.
“I think we have really good people,” Gross said. “The state audition will go really well.”
