Aiming to tame the Coyotes in their second District 9-5A game, girls’ basketball takes on Heritage on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at The Nest.

“The game Tuesday helped us start our routine, the district season is more rhythmic than non-district, Tuesdays and Fridays, so it really just starts that rhythm,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “You go from Saturday working on yourself and the things you need to do to get better, to Monday introducing the upcoming team and going over the scout report, and of course Tuesday having another final scout and playing that game, so that process is cyclical. It goes over the course of the next two and a half months, that’s how it will be on Tuesdays and Fridays, so really having played on Tuesday prepares our mentality more than anything.”

Entering the game with a 1-0 district record, senior Makenzi Glover and her teammates have utilized this week to refine their skills in order to be ready for play.

“Practices this week will help us prepare for the game on Friday,” Glover said. “We will go back over film and take a look at some of our mistakes so we can improve upon those things. In practice, we’ll be going hard and competing with one another.”
