Wingspan: How long have you been playing basketball and what got you started?

Owens: “For eleven years, my dad put a ball in my hand the minute I could walk.”

Wingspan: What fuels your passion to play?

Owens: “My mom has the biggest influence on my passion because she’s always pushing me to try new things and do better, and it just makes me want to do better.”

Wingspan: What do you enjoy most about the game?

Owens: “The adrenaline rush you get right before the game starts or in a really tight game when the team and I are playing good. Those just made me fall in love with the sport.”

Wingspan: What is something that you want to improve on?

Owens: “Building an IQ. It’s difficult because even the best of the best athletes don’t know how to have good reads. That’s something I wanna continue to grow and do better on.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare before a game?

Owens: “I go over the gameplan with my teammates one more then listen to music and mentally prepare.”

Wingspan: What is something that you want to improve on?

Owens: “My finishing.”

Wingspan: What hypes you up before a game?

Owens: “Gameday speeches and dancing get me hype. The runout music when the beat drops I know I’m ready and get really happy.”
