Hosting the Memorial Warriors at The Nest, boys’ and girls’ basketball completed their fifth straight District 9-5A sweep on Tuesday with the girls’ team winning 70-36 and the boys’ team winning 64-51.

With a five game winning streak, and the team sitting in second place, the boys are still looking to improve for the duration of season.

“We didn’t perform as well,” sophomore Myson Huff said. “Last time we played them we won by 32 points but we only won by 13 this game. So I believe we didn’t play our best but later on down the road we will improve.”

The girls’ team continued its run of strong defense, allowing an average of less than 10 points a quarter.

“I think we performed well, Memorials head coach [Rochelle Vaughn] used to be one of our coaches so she knows how we play, but I think we prepared well for them,” senior Savannah McKeen said. “I think our energy was high because we wanted to beat them and prove ourselves.”
