  • At the end of the Organic Vegetable Gardening presentation, Master gardener Julie Grim, takes the time to assist community member Hidemi Nishibayashi in understanding the charts provided in the viewer handouts. The handouts provided during the presentation gave the community members information regarding when to plant certain vegetables and plants.

  • The Environmental Education Center in plano hosed the Organic Vegetable Gardening presentation that gives residence living in the Plano area a chance to learn new ways on maintain a healthy and environmental friendly garden. Not far from the building is a community garden that Master gardeners work to grow vegetables for food donation.

  • As the Organic Vegetable Gardening presentation begins, Master Gardener, Mimi Serrao, starts off the presentation by giving the community members information on the ideal times to water plants during each different season.

  • The Students for Environmental Action Club have been working on making sleeping mats to donate to homeless individuals. “This project involves both social justice and welfare with environmental problems,” junior Lauren Maher said.

  • Community members from around the Plano area come together at the Environmental Education Center to attend the Organic Vegetable Gardening presentation. Three Master gardeners share their first hand experiences on maintaining an organic garden along with helpful tips on how the viewers can improve their home gardens.

  • As the Organic Vegetable Gardening presentation comes to an end, viewers take the chance to ask the Master gardeners a few of their questions regarding the presentation. The Master gardeners use their knowledge and background on gardening to answer the questions to the best of their abilities.

Even though the temperatures may not seem like the ideal time to plant a garden, Plano’s Environment Education Center recently held a community meeting providing local residents with tips on organic gardening.
