Girls’ basketball seeks to end the district competition against Lone Star Tuesday as the two teams sit atop the standings. The boys’ team looks to continue their win streak as well with three games left as they seek to knock Lone Star off the top spot in the conference.

The pressure is on as basketball travels to Lone Star to go head to head against the undefeated Rangers.

The girls start off the night hoping to finish off their District 9-5A season on a positive note.

“We’ve improved physically by getting stronger against teams we’ve played,” senior Mara Casey said. “We’ve also grown with each other and developed more and more chemistry with each other. I think that’s why we’re so successful.  And for tonight, we are just planning on executing our game plan and attacking them from the jump ball of the game.”

In second place in District 9-5A, Liberty boys sit right behind the Rangers, and hope to keep their eight game winning streak alive.

“I feel like tonight will be a good game,” sophomore Myson Huff said. “I feel like we are going to go into the game with a chip on our shoulder due to our first lost to Lone Star. But I feel as if we are going to do better than we’ve had all year tonight.”
