Avenging its previous 1-1 tie against the Memorial Warriors, the boys’ soccer team left the turf on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory and a fresh start to begin the tail end of its District 9-5A season with no games until Feb. 19.

“We had a pretty high work rate overall,” head coach Fred Kaiser said. “It’s nice to give everybody time to recover; two games a week is a lot, so it’ll give everyone the chance to the rest and recover.”

It was a different outcome for the girls, as they were not able to pull through with a win, tying the Warriors 1-1.

“I thought we did really good, but got unlucky with some of the ref’s calls, but overall we played pretty well,” senior Emma Mason said. “I think the team was really good at moving the ball around and keeping possession through most of the game, especially with how Memorial plays with high pressure.”
