Ten wrestlers are moving on to state as they qualified in the 5A Region II meet on Friday and Saturday.

The girls’ team came out on top taking first at Regionals. Adding on to their district championship titles, Ashley Cook, Savannah West, and Princess Egbuchunam dominated their weight classes.

For the boys’ side, the team placed sixth overall with Diego Lorenso and Precious Essien finishing as Regional Champs.

“I think my energy during regionals was just fun,” senior Austin Widner said. “I know this is my last go and so I’m gonna do my best to enjoy it. For state, I just wanna go out and put on a show and enjoy it. This is the last run and I’m gonna make sure it’s one to remember.”
