Returning 5A state champions defended their reputation, as the boys’ soccer team lost to the Wakeland Wolverines 5-1 during its rescheduled game on Wednesday night.

“We started off a little flat, but began to play pretty well after the first 15 minutes,” senior Justin Parri said. “In the second half, we weren’t able to create enough opportunities to come back.”

Following the boys’ game, the girls took on the Wolverines, but fell behind in a close 4-2 loss.

“I thought we played really well and we definitely could have beat them, we just didn’t really finish any of our shots,” senior Emma Krilowicz said. “We definitely outplayed them in the second half and it was a really good game.”
