Hosting dance competition, Red Rhythm prepares to welcome guests

Red Rhythm had their last contest last weekend and got 2nd place, but that doesn’t mean contest season is over as it’s their turn to host the yearly marching auxiliaries. The drill team had a successful time at their two contests by winning grand champions in their division for danceline USA and second place overall.

This week they have started to prep the school for the marching auxiliaries contest where high schools and dance studios from around the area come to compete their dances.

“For MA we just cover the teachers desks up and just make sure that there all clean and ready for the dancers to be there,” senior Haley Hammons said. “We hang sings to point where to go and were also doing a selfie booth this year which is really fun to do and we just make sure the school is ready.”

MA Liberty is the biggest fundraiser that Red Rhythm puts on and it helps provide money for their upcoming spring show on April 26th and 27th.

“The money that we raise goes towards our costumes and scholarships from fdf and other things like that,” Hammons said.
