The tennis team continued its preparation for the District 9-5A tournament in April by playing in the North Pool tournament at McKinney North and McKinney Boyd High Schools on Friday.

Placing in second, senior Laisha Chopra was excited to get to play despite the cool temperatures.

“It was very very cold that day but I’m glad the tournament didn’t get cancelled,” she said. “I didn’t want yet another tournament this year to get cancelled so I’m glad we pushed through.”

For senior Sydney Graff, spending her entire day playing was worth the first place win at the end.

“We get up really early on tournament days and have to be at school by 7:00 a.m.,” Graff said. “So getting first place at the end is really satisfying because we work pretty hard throughout the day.”
