Finishing five strokes over par, and six strokes behind the winner, sophomore Raeleigh Davidson shot a 149 in the 5A UIL golf tournament Monday and Tuesday to finish in 7th place at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown.

“It reflected my work ethic well, it’s really hard to get to state as an individual and I accomplished that along with playing two pretty solid rounds of golf at the state tournament,” Davidson said. “Next year, I hope to make it back to state hopefully with a team again and beat my records from this year.”

Shooting a 75 on the first day of the tournament and a 74 on Tuesday, Davidson feels good about how she performed.

“I placed seventh in a really competitive field, but there’s always room to improve,” Davidson said. “I could’ve putted better for sure, but I was able to really bounce back and save some shots when things went bad during my rounds.”
