Maddie Aronson is a senior, and joined Wingspan her junior year. She loves attention, oreos, and fun earrings, and is looking forward to a career in environmental science. Maddie is also on the school volleyball and wrestling team, and is the president of the SAGA club on campus. She loves spending time with her friends, and drinking boba tea with other members of the Wingspan staff, and is excited for another year in the program.

In the fall, 72 teachers were nominated by schools throughout the district with one teacher per school selected. On Thursday, FISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip honored all 72 and then named the final 10 candidates for T.O.Y. with biology teacher Chris Ham selected as a one of the final five finalists for secondary Teacher of the Year. The 2019-2020 elementary and secondary Teacher of the Year will be announced Thursday during another live Facebook stream.

After removing 10 UV LED light eyewear sterilizers from schools across FISD, these cabinets were moved to Frisco Fire Stations, to help clean first responders eyewear. Using this with other safety measures, first responders are using extra precautions like this to limit the spread of disease as much as possible.

The Redhawks ended their 2019 District 9-5A season with a 3-0 win over 2nd place Lebanon Trail on Tuesday in The Nest. The Redhawks finished district play at 18-0, becoming the first team in Frisco ISD history to go 18-0. Wearing her newly awarded Under Armour All-American jersey, senior volleyball player Jenna Wenaas is just one of several athletes recognized for their accomplishments at an athletics department ceremony Tuesday during advisory. The ceremony was the first of its kind and was the inspiration of campus athletic director and head football coach Matt Swinnea. “I think that we as a community, as an athletic program, are a big part of the school, Swinnea said. So if were having a good time, and loving each other, then the school will do the same thing.”
