Hoping to start the season strong, football fell to North Garland 42-7 on Friday at Memorial, the team’s 12 consecutive loss.
“Overall we kind of under performed,” senior Ethan Qualls said. “A big take away was that we just have to keep doing our jobs and tackle better and not let the scoreboard decide how we play.”
Performing well in a scrimmage against Royse City before the season started, the players are expecting more from the rest of the season as they learn from this loss.
“I felt like we started the game strong but as the game went on, our inexperience as a team led to us making some mistakes,” junior Will Ashmore said. “I think as a team we’ll improve cohesiveness and hopefully that leads to more success.”
