Basketball season on campus tips off with the third annual Midnight Madness event on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in The Nest.

“The one thing that I’m looking forward to the most would definitely be the energy and competitive nature of the event which gets us ready for the season,” varsity player, junior Suhani Kunam said. “ Also, the community comes out and supports us and it’s kind of like a kick start to the event.”

The event is open to the public and will feature scrimmages for the teams, a dunk contest, and other activities designed to hype up fans for the 2019-2020 season.

“[Cheer] went last year and it is always fun for us and the drill team to perform,” varsity cheerleader, junior Morgan Lucas said. “I am looking forward to everyone getting excited about the season and performing our show. It’s a lot of fun.”

For varsity basketball player, sophomore Kamen Wong, Midnight Madness is a way to feel good about the upcoming season.

“Midnight Madness helps motivate both basketball teams to get ready for the season,” Wong said. “And it’s fun for the parents and students that come and watch it helps hype everyone up for the season.”
