Honoring senior wrestlers for Senior Night on Thursday, the wrestling team brings in its last dual of the season at home against Wakeland and Lebanon Trail beginning at 6:00 p.m.

“I always have mixed feelings on Senior Night, because it reminds me of what we’re losing,” assistant wrestling coach Tim Brennan said. “It’s great to celebrate them and thank the for what they did, but it’s also reality sets in, saying that they’re going away is always kind of a bittersweet night for me, but we will honor them well.”

With high hopes for the team’s last home competition, Brennan looks to send the seniors off with a win.

“Lebanon trail will be tough, they wrestled us tough the first time, but I think we’ll handle them, and I think we’ll handle Wakeland,” Brennan said. “On the girls side I don’t think either team has anyone who can challenge us, but we ought to have six or seven duals against Wakeland, probably five or six against Lebanon Trail, so this should be a good night.”

Captain and four year wrestler, senior Tristan Seals is excited for the chance to be in the spotlight and celebrate the accomplishments of seniors on the team.

“I’m excited for senior night because this has been four years in the making,” Seals said. “After watching every other year, seniors be recognized, I’m excited now that it’s my time to be recognized, and show my talent.”

Representing the end of an era for the class of 2020, senior captain Karina Quiros is excited for tonight and the opportunity to come together with the whole team for one of the last times.

“I’m really excited just because it’s something I’ve been seeing other seniors do for the past  years, so now that it’s time to have our moment it’s really exciting,” Quiros said. “At the same time its like any other dual, but it’s just something more directed towards us, so it will be really nice to have one last time when were here as a team all together, before we go to college.”
