With over half a million Texas students participating annually, UIL academic season has begun, and the school kicks things off with its first invitational meet this Saturday at Flower Mound High School.

The school finished second in the 2015 5A UIL Academic State Meet.

“We’ve had the most success we’ve ever had as a school last year,” UIL Academic Coordinator  Jeff Schrantz said. “Our math team [has had] more interest than we’ve ever had since I’ve been coaching the team and I think a lot of that has to do with that success.”

Schrantz anticipates even better results than the school has had in previous years.

“As an entire school we also have a lot of interest,” Schrantz said. “I think we have a great chance.”
