Looking to add to its overall win streak, the Redhawk basketball program takes on the Heritage Coyotes Friday at The Nest, with the girls’ team starting play at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow at 7:15 p.m.
“Since we have played them before, we can’t underestimate them,” junior Kayla Pernis said. “Like us, they have improved since the beginning of the season. We need to keep the same energy we have had in the past and treat them the same as every other team.”
The boys are hungry for a fourth win in a row and are motivated to keep working their way up the district standings.
“Well our first goal every game is to come out with a win,” senior Ian Thomas said. “Coach always says our focus for today is to go 1-0. We have to play team ball and bring intensity on the defensive end, which we’ve been working on all week. It’ll be a fast paced game and we like to keep it that way because a lot of teams may have trouble keeping up.”
