Redhawk Theatre is putting their acting skills to the test for the Winter Improv Show Thursday in the Black Box Theatre starting at 7 p.m.

“We’ve been working really hard,” improv troupe president, sophomore Jessica Daly said. “We’ve been working since the beginning of the year to get everything ready for the show, and our cast has been working really really hard and they’re really awesome and basically we’re just gonna be having a lot of fun and the audience is gonna be on stage with us and we are going to just be basically playing games, and coming up with things on the spot, it should be a lot of fun, and yeah.”

For theatre member sophomore Mia Trennel, improv is great practice for other productions.

”I’m really excited,” Trennel said. “I didn’t do improv last year so this will be my first improv show, it’s really helpful when it comes to theatre to just be able to make something up on the spot and say yes because it helps you learn about comedic timing and it helps you to just say yes in general. It helps you because one of the rules is only to say yes because you can’t deny anything else. I really like improv so far, we play a lot of really fun games.”

The theatre department has already put on several shows this year, but it’s the first improv show with the group rehearsing every Tuesday and Friday morning before school.

“This is actually our first improv show for this year,” sophomore Greg Underwood said. “So I’m kinda nervous and excited at the same time, but we’ve been working hard so i think we can pull it off.”
