After falling in the District 9-5A opener against Wakeland Tuesday night, the girls’ softball team looks to cage the Reedy Lions Friday night at home with first pitch coming at 7 p.m.

“I’m feeling good about the game on Friday,” junior Sue Slater said. “After Tuesday’s loss, we’ve worked on tuning up our play in the field and have been working on hitting what Reedy’s pitcher will pitch us. We’ve been doing really well in practice so we just have to translate that into the game tomorrow.

The team is hoping to jump out to a fast start against the Lions.

“We’re hoping to score early and often and minimize our errors,” Slater said. “We’re also hoping to get three outs quickly when we’re in the field so we don’t get behind in the game.”
