Joining together every week, Frisco ISD librarians launched a podcast when the district’s eLearning program began. A new podcast is uploaded every week on Wednesdays and is available through various streaming services.

High school librarians from throughout Frisco ISD have launched a weekly podcast with new episodes being released every Wednesday.

We decided to do a podcast as a group so that we could still get relevant information out to our teachers and students during this pandemic,” Lebanon Trail librarian Ashley Hill said. “We discuss lots of topics from fake news, to finding credible sources, acts of kindness, warm-hearted stories, must read books, and healthy ways we have dealt with the pandemic. In all, the podcast was designed to be educational and informational, but also fun and lighthearted to listen to as well.”

Campus librarian Chelsea Hamilton is hopeful that the podcast, which is available on multiple streaming apps ranging from Spotify to Apple Music, will be successful in keeping everyone updated.

“We really missed our students,” Hamilton said. “We don’t get to talk about books and recommendations and misinformation with everyone ever, so this is a great idea. We keep a running google doc of ideas and topics, then the day we record, we get together for about 30 minutes before go-time to talk it all over. The podcast itself is under 30 minutes each episode.”
