Friday is the first of several consecutive three, or four-day weekends for students.

With all students learning virtually until at least Sept. 3, and then some students continuing to do so for the first nine weeks, the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees made some changes to the 2020-2021 school calendar to give more staff development time to teachers at the start of the year.

The staff development days originally set for Oct. 9, Feb. 12, and April 26, have been moved to Friday, Aug. 21, Friday, Aug. 28, and Sept 4, the Friday of Labor Day weekend.

That means the next two weekends are three day weekends for students, and Labor Day weekend is now a four-day weekend for students.

These days are student holidays so there will be no virtual classes or work assigned.
