Rather than a slow build up to district play, the volleyball team is playing four games in seven days with the first match of the year coming Tuesday with the Redhawks traveling to take on Weatherford at 6:30 p.m.

“The team is working hard to prepare for districts since preseason has been cut short,” senior Caitlyn Brown said.

District 9-5A play begins Sept. 22, nearly a month later than usual which has allowed the players to push themselves on and off the court.

“Practices have been really intense this past month and a half,” senior Franny Trezza said. “We’ve been conditioning and doing weight room on top of at least 1.5 hours of volleyball everyday. We’re really working on running plays to help elevate our play. We are kind of undersized but this is definitely going to make us a big threat on the offense.”
