After a busy weekend, the volleyball team came home with two more District 9-5A wins, but neither win was without a fight.

First the team played and conquered Independence High School (3-1) on Friday.

We made fewer unforced errors and blocked very well,” head coach Obrele Clark said. “We will continue to work on serve receive and blocking.”

On Saturday, the score was a little closer but the Redhawks managed to defeat the Wolverines (3-2) now led by a familiar face.

“This was a game we had been looking forward to and hoping to win,” senior Caitlyn Brown said. “ Ui Womble was head coach last year and she is now the head coach of Wakeland. So we looked forward to playing her so we could see her, but we also really wanted to beat her.”
