Cross country brought home a 3rd place finish for the boys and a 7th place finish for the girls in their last meet before the District 9-5A meet on Oct. 29.

“I think that we work well together during the race, by motivating each other, but I think that we need to make sure we all are in peak condition,” sophomore Takumi Harima said via text.

Two athletes, sophomores Andrew Jáuregui (16:55.9) finishing in 6th place and Chance Moore (17:07.8) following close in 9th place, finished in the top ten leaving little room for error as they compete for their place in district.

Hoping to help the team advance beyond the district meet, Harima is hopeful the Redhawks can keep running beyond Oct. 29.

“Our next meet is districts, so I hope we can beat either Wakeland or Reedy to secure a spot in regionals,” Harima said.
