Valentines day has cheesy love stories, Halloween has loads of horror movies, and Christmas is filled to the brim with movies of all sorts of varieties. However, what about the Thanksgiving movies?

The film industry has seemingly skipped over Thanksgiving, so when a movie of this holiday comes along, it’s something truly unique.

On the last Thursday of November, the United States celebrates Thanksgiving with a large meal, and the primary dish: turkey.

Every year, thousands of Turkeys are killed for our Thanksgiving feasts, and in the 2013 film, Free Birds, the turkeys turn back time in order to re-write history and spare all turkeys.

The film follows Reggie, Owen Wilson, the annual pardoned turkey, and Jake, another turkey played by Woody Harrelson, being brought back in time to the first Thanksgiving.

Although it’s unique and has plenty of hilarious moments, this film is another case of a mediocre animated movie with an all-star celebrity cast. However, amongst the limited selection of Thanksgiving movies, this one is still worth a watch if you’re a fan of any of the actors.
